Keep Cup Cosy for Him and for Her

Materials

Morris and Sons Avalon 8 ply Cotton, 3.25mm crochet hook, tapestry needle, one stitch marker.

 Abbreviations

ch- chain; sl st- slip stitch; dc – double crochet; htr- half treble crochet; tr- treble crochet; st(s) – stitch(es); rep – repeat.

 NB: Worked in a spiral. British crochet terms used throughout.

Place the stitch marker to mark beginning of round.

Cosy

Ch2, 8dc in second ch from hook.

Row 2: 2dc in each st around. (16sts).

Row 3: *1dc, 2dc in next st rep all around. (24sts)

Row 4: *2dc, 2dc in next st, rep all around (32sts)

Row 5: * 3dc, 2dc in next st, rep all around (40sts)

Work 17 rows without increasing. Fasten off and sew away any ends.

To finish: Remove the logo rubber band. Slip the cosy over the cup.

Stretch the rubber band and pull it over the cup. Place it in line with the top of the cosy to secure.

Moustache

ch 5, dc in 2nd ch from hook, htr in next st, tr in next st, 2htr in last st,

ch 6, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in next 2sts, dc in next st, 2htr in next st.

Continue on the underside of foundation ch, dc in next st, htr in next st, dc in next st, then sl st in last. Fasten off, weave in ends. Make one more. Attach the two pieces. Place the moustache on the cup under the logo and secure.
